English vs. Proper English

Lately, I have been exploring what has been effective in general language acquisition. Especially as one learns to read proficiently.  Further sparked by different perspectives on etymology; the spoken thinkers in the course provided me things to compare prior materials with. It has given me a new outlook on what it means to be a part of the English craft at CNU.  I would be completely a Lewis advocate, if you in another timeline, placed me as one of the students in Oxford in the 20th century.  Last semester I exposed myself to Anglo-Saxon Literature. This semester I am touching on the theorists post 1950's and the works of Lewis here in 451. I will not lie I favor Narnia over work made in the 1300's. Therefore I support Lewis, but I suppose I will never know what qualities come with favoring newer work. I suppose I will find this out.

Have You Had a Happening Today?

In the 20th century, the surrealist movement served to express fantastical unconscious thoughts. In this blog, I want to proposition the idea that "happening" is not supposed to mean all things of random expression and that happening operates independently of time when explaining its specification. Dr. Redick is not explaining the term as an apparatus either for us to use to explain the momentary either. The happening can last as long as the happening lasts. So, Surrealism, id say is not a movement to compare to the situation the happening presents. Nor is it a means to educate someone on what the definition means, even though it is not unfounded to say happening can't occur in such a period or any time at all. The term happening is not limited to any frame of time or historical time period when explaining its meaning. Happening (I would assume) has a stronger association with sensationalism.  Clearly, the happening requires mental articulation to be a serviceable accompl...

De-bunking Childs Play: First Blog Entry

My favorite part regarding Fisher's view of narration, as he proposes in the “narrative paradigm, ” is the invitation to just simply practice the ability to perlustrate images for logic's sake. Suggesting that something, even as a myth, has the wrong perception now. Narration as a caliper can provide something everyone wants: “the capacitance for imagery.” When we see something such as  “Tinkerbell,” it is often neglected because it is not adult-like. Indeed….but in the eye of the one valuing narrative, you suggest seeing it as a chance to practice chronological imagery. To be able to see images is akin to building capability in any fine art that exists. Otherwise, it is purely incoherent. Relative to the class conversation, suppose you want to take the class conversation a step further in understanding. Your stuffed animal could possibly be a very powerful device to strengthen imagery utilizing narrative. If Mr. Seal could he would enjoy reading Walter Fisher's consensu...

Evolution For Decline?

Utilizing casual text. We discussed Barfield's comments regarding other composers of meaning. Covering his information there happens to be one notation I want to add to my journal because of the consistency of (9/19s) class period discussion.  What I consider interesting was his ability to articulate the other end of a.... want to call a hypothetical bunch. That in a hypothetical world, could consider it plausible that people go from a polymath stature to an institutionalized class position. This impressive concept on readers and audiences just suggests (to me) that human evolution is not declining (which is Owens premise) , what makes it considerable to say ..... words decline in function also? It's clear that is not how evolution works.
